Climate Change Daily Vid Oct 13 207: Climate Change Specialist Jonathan Pershing

"Americans sent more than 8 million comments to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in support of standards limiting carbon pollution from new and existing power plants – the most ever received by the agency.

Jonathan Pershing previously served as the US Department of State's Special Envoy for Climate Change. State has worked to increase the participation and representation of women in climate change discussions. Pershing discusses why he is motivated to pursue this work and the role women have played in combating climate change worldwide.

Jonathan Pershing is the Program Director of Environment at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

He leads a team of grantmakers focused on climate change in the U.S., China, India, Europe and Latin America, and conserving the North American West. He joined the foundation in January 2017.
